In 1946 the Battalion was granted the title Royal right is the 1st Battalion The Royal Hampshire Cap Badge notice the Kings crown on top which was changed to the Queens crown when Elizabeth became Queen. Badge with the Queens crown below.The Badge did not become worn by the regiment until some time after 1946.

Officers

Up until 1992 Officers Badge. Bronze in Colour. The difference in capbadges worn by the Officer's and ranks dates from 1881 when the 37th North and 67th South Hampshire where united

Other Ranks Cap Badge with Queens Crown 1992

1st Battalion The Royal Hampshire Originated from the 67th South Hampshire. The Tudor Rose was awarded to the New Forest Archers by H.R.H. King Henry V. For there gallantry at the battle of Agincourt in 1415. The Royal Bengal Tiger was presented for 21 years active service in India from by H.R.H. King George IV. The line between the Rose and the Tiger in the badge was to commemorate being the first British Army to march the breadth of India during their tour of duty in 1821-1822.

The crown is the Queens crown. A badge with the kings crown seen above
